I wasn't the least bit interested in reading Fifty Shades of Grey, but I love parodies. Twenty Shades of Purple by Chris MacRye does not disappoint. I laughed so hard at times I almost cried. This book skips all the perfect loves scenes that are common in romance novels and instead gives us a middle-aged couple who are trying to add a spark to their love life, but have a bit of a bumpy ride along the way.
If you want a good laugh, or maybe even a few ideas for your own bedroom, I highly recommend this book. Trust me. If you love romantic comedies, and good sex scenes, you will love this book!
20 Shades of Purple had me laughing half the night. It's about a middle aged (40's) couple who go about trying to add a bit of spice to the bedroom after the wife reads a similarly titled best-selling series. Let's just say that their adventures aren't near as easy to pull off as in the other series! There are trips to the ER after burns and broken toys, lots of bruising, and many embarrassing conversations and moments with family and coworkers. Super funny! Yeah, sexual adventures in real life just don't happen or turn out the way they do in most adult books, and this book laid it all out there!

This book is somewhat humorous, but it's very difficult to ignore the multiple typos and grammatical errors. Whoever edited this book did a horrible job. I'd say buy this book if you find it on sale, but don't pay full price because it is not worth it.
It's a great comedy about a normal married couple experimenting in the bedroom after the wife read 50 shades. It's really funny and it's a cute story. Loved it.
How fun to actually read an account of a couple trying to imitate the 50 Shades books. I loved this book!
Omg! This book has moved to the top of my favorite list for funny books. A MUST read. It's an easy read..quick..I think it a quick read for the shear fact you have to see what happens next with this couple. What ever can go wrong will....Very comical. The patience they have with each other is cute...and yet funny.Please don't pass this book up..I'm sure you will love it as much as I did.
Pretty unimpressive as a whole. A storyline that dragged on for far too long. I kept reading in the hope it would get better - it didn't. Mercifully it did end. Possibly suit someone who just wants something to read whilst on holiday beside a pool or on the beach..?
